今回PS5版、Xbox Series S|X版の発売が決定したのは「バイオハザード7　レジデント イービル」「バイオハザード RE:2」「バイオハザード RE:3」の3作品です。カプコンの開発した次世代型ゲームエンジン「RE ENGINE」で制作された作品で、特に「バイオハザード7　レジデント イービル」に至ってはこの作品のために「RE ENGINE」が開発され、初めて「RE ENGINE」で制作されたタイトルでもあります。いずれも大ヒットしていますのでプレイ済みの人も多いかと思いますが、レイトレーシング、ハイフレームレート化、3Dオーディオディオなど、最新のプレイ環境に相応しいパワーアップするので、新たな恐怖を我々に与えてくれることでしょう！新たなコンテンツ追加は無いとのことですが、アップグレードによってアダプティブトリガーやハプティックフィードバックなどの固有機能にも対応されるとのことなので、それだけで新しいゲーム体験を期待できそうです。
